Who is allowed to drive the vehicle?
I booked the vehicle — can someone else drive it?
In general, only the holder of the user account on which the booking was made is authorised to drive the vehicle.
Would you like to add a second driver to your user account or booking so that this person can also drive the vehicle?
Adding a second driver technically is not possible. Depending on the insurance conditions of the sharing offer, however, the vehicle may be handed over to another driver during your booking under certain requirements.
You can view the insurance conditions — and thus the requirements for additional drivers — in the app. To access them, please open the Terms of Use in the vehicle information of the respective vehicle.
Please note that if you do not comply with the terms of use and insurance conditions, there is no insurance coverage, and as the renter, you will be liable for the full repair costs as well as any additional costs (e.g. transport costs) in the event of damage.
If your sharing provider does not allow adding a second user directly to an existing driver account, there is a simple procedure you must follow.
1. Create a new user account in the MOQO app and complete the driver’s licence validation.
2. Cancel the existing booking:
Before another person can take over the vehicle, the current booking must be cancelled. This ensures a smooth rebooking process and allows correct assignment of drivers, licences, and trips. Please also note the cancellation conditions of the carsharing provider.
3. Make a new booking via the second user account:
After cancellation, the vehicle can be booked again easily via the new second user account.
