Which tariffs are offered? Is there an overview of the tariffs?

Please refer to the app for more information. The prices listed in the app are always binding.

At which locations are the sharing vehicles available?

CITYca is currently limited to the Bielefeld city area.

Can the sharing vehicles be returned at multiple locations, or must they always be returned to the pickup station? (Free Floating or Station-Based)

The vehicles do not have a fixed parking space and can be parked anywhere within Bielefeld's city limits (in accordance with traffic regulations). To ensure accessibility for all users, our booking terms specify that vehicles may not be parked in dead-end streets or forest areas, as they are harder to find and see there.

Additional costs only arise if traffic regulations are violated.

Exception: Location Siechenmarschstraße 21 in Bielefeld.

"Free Floating" and "Station-Based" are labeled on the sides and doors of the vehicles or on the dashboard. This information is also displayed when booking.

What are the return conditions for the vehicles? (e.g., returning to a charging point, starting the charging process, key chip, charging (& parking) card in the holder in the glove compartment)

  • Lock the vehicle.

  • Insert the car key and charging card into the key box in the glove compartment.

  • Ensure all windows, doors, and the trunk are closed.

  • Press the "End Usage" button in the booking system.

  • Move the "Lock Vehicle" slider from left to right.

  • The booking will be automatically terminated.

Returning vehicles in forest areas or dead-end streets is not allowed.

The key chip and charging (& parking) card must be placed in the holder in the glove compartment. Ensure all doors and the trunk are closed; otherwise, the vehicle cannot be locked.

Which vehicles are available at which locations?

The app provides an overview of the nearest available vehicles and displays all vehicles on a map.

The available locations are listed on our website: www.cityca.de. When booking a vehicle, you can also see its location and battery charge level.

Does the driver's license need to be validated? If so, how can it be validated?

Charging Process Information

How is the charging cable connected?

  • The charging cable is in the trunk.

  • Plug the cable into the charging station first, then into the vehicle’s charging port.

  • Some vehicles have a protective cap that can be opened by pressing the unlock button on the vehicle key.

  • Some charging stations already have a fixed charging cable.

  • All vehicles have a 230V emergency charging cable and an extension cable in the trunk.

How is the charging process started?

For Stadtwerke Bielefeld charging stations: Use the blue chip attached to the keychain.
For Wallbe charging stations in Bielefeld: Use the Wallbe charging card, which is stored in the glove compartment.

Outside of Bielefeld, we do not offer charging options—users must find suitable charging stations themselves.

How is the charging process stopped?

  • Stand next to the charging plug on the vehicle.

  • Press the "Unlock Vehicle" button on the car key—this will release the charging plug.

  • Then unplug the cable from the charging station.

  • Do not forget the charging cable—it belongs to the vehicle!

Where can the charging cards be used?

  • Stadtwerke Bielefeld charging stations

  • Wallbe charging stations in Bielefeld

  • Outside of Bielefeld, customers must find their own charging solutions.

How is the vehicle charged?

  • Use the blue charging chip on the keychain.

  • Connect the charging cable to the vehicle first, then to the charging station.

  • Hold the chip against the RFID field to activate the charging process.

  • The charging station’s indicator light will turn blue within 2-15 seconds, meaning charging has started.

  • CITYca charging stations can be activated using the charging card in the glove compartment.

  • Charging is usually allowed for up to 4 hours—please set the parking disc correctly!

  • Do not forget the charging cable after charging!

When should the vehicle be charged?

If the battery level falls below 25%, the vehicle should be charged.

How long does it take to charge the vehicle?

Charging times vary depending on the vehicle model and battery level. Approximate times:

  • Nissan eNV: 3 hours for ~200 km

  • Renault ZOE: 3 hours for ~320 km

  • Smart Cabrio: 5 hours for ~110 km

  • Other Smart models: 1 hour for ~130 km

  • Skoda Citigo: 3 hours for ~200 km

Driving style and outside temperature also impact battery range.

Which cards are in the vehicle? (Type, provider, PIN if applicable)

  • Blue charging chip (attached to the keychain) for Stadtwerke Bielefeld charging stations.

  • CITYca charging card (stored in the glove compartment) for CITYca charging stations.

How do I use the charging cards?

  1. Plug the charging cable into the vehicle first, then into the charging station.

  2. Hold the card or chip against the RFID sensor at the station.

  3. The indicator light will turn blue, signaling the charging process has started.

Important:

  • Always place a parking disc behind the windshield when charging—maximum charging time is 4 hours.

  • Do not use charging spots as parking spaces—violations may result in fines.
