Charging Process Information

How is the charging cable connected?

Take the charging cable, which is permanently attached to the wallbox, and plug it into the rear right charging port of the vehicle.

How is the charging process started?

  1. Unlock the wallbox using the blue chip.

  2. The wallbox will give a short signal, briefly light up green, and then display a white light strip moving from top to bottom.

  3. The car-sharing app will show the charging status after a short delay.

How is the charging process stopped?

  1. Unlock the car.

  2. If a white light strip is running from top to bottom on the wallbox, stop the charging process using the blue charging chip (located in the car).

  3. The app will indicate whether the car is still charging – if the battery symbol is blinking, charging is still active.

  4. After a short time, the charging plug on the vehicle will be released.

  5. If a remote key is available, pressing the "unlock doors" button may help release the plug.

How is the charging cable secured after use?

The charging cable is permanently attached to the wallbox and only needs to be hung on the hook.

At which charging stations can the charging cards be used?

  • For recharging outside Wismar, the vehicle has a charging card (Maingau), which is located in the card holder in the glove compartment.

  • This card allows charging at over 85,000 locations in Germany.

  • The charging status of the car is continuously displayed in the app.

  • By clicking on "Info", additional details will appear.

  • Clicking on the map will show the nearest supported charging locations.

Which cards are in the vehicle? (Type of card, provider, possibly PIN)

  • Charging card (yellow, labeled "Maingau") – No PIN required.

  • Golf model only: Additional parking garage access card (white).

  • All cards are stored in the cardholder in the glove compartment.

How is each card used?

Simply hold the respective card at the designated reader.
